In Literature Appetizer, Ben gives you just a taste of a book. Not meant to replace the full meal, this is meant to whet your appetite. Bon appetit!
My parents have often joked that I grew up backwards. As a child I was quiet, serious, and always followed the rules without question. I often scolded my classmates for not doing what they were supposed to. As I have grown, I have found myself excited to express a passion for certain subjects more and more. One of the most prominent things I get excited about is dinosaurs.
How could you not get excited about dinosaurs?
In Dinosaurs, Benton takes you on a journey through not only various dinosaur adaptations, but also through the debates and discoveries paleontologists have had over the years.
The text itself can get a bit dense for younger readers, but any learner aged 12 and up should have a blast with this. Each chapter introduces a different dinosaur that transformed the way we think about these amazing creatures. I highly recommend this quick read to brush up on your dinosaur facts.
Speaking of dinosaur facts, I just finished watching Prehistoric Planet. Instead of portraying dinosaurs as bloodthirsty monsters that continuously fight, this show does an excellent job as showing them as animals doing what animals have done for millions of years.
