From fall 2014 to early summer 2015, Ben served through Americorps in City Year, New Hampshire. The goal of the organization is to reduce the high school drop out rate by providing extra people power in inner-city classes. For ten months Ben worked with his team (pictured above) in a public school in Manchester, NH providing whatever service he could. In the end, he served over 1700 hours tutoring, mentoring, and supporting the elementary school students in the Granite State. He also worked as the literacy coordinator: creating fun and interactive school wide incentives that encouraged creativity and writing.

During the winter of 2014 he was given an opportunity to be the co-director of Camp City Year, a four day camp designed to give elementary students an educational experience during their winter break in February. Ben worked with a dozen of his peers to fully implement an exploration themed adventure that reinforced mathematics, English language arts, and scientific concepts learned in school.
